Welcome to the 2011/2012 school year at South Dade Middle School! I am extremely excited to begin this year at our beautiful school!
My name is Mrs. Lugo and I will be your students Reading/Language arts teacher. I graduated from Barry University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. In 2008, I completed my Reading Masters from Nova University. This is my eighth year of teaching. I have previously taught third and fourth grades.
In the upcoming months, we will be learning new skills as well as building upon skills that will not only prepare us for the FCAT Writing test in March and the FCAT Reading Test in April, but also for the remainder of your student’s academic career. I am prepared to work as a team and synergize with your student in discovering their strengths and I hope you will join us in our discovery!

Below you will find the supply list for this school year. The students will begin using their supplies immediately. It is important that students have their supplies no later than Monday August 29th. All school supplies should be labled with your child’s name. Please check with your child periodically throughout the school year to ensure that they have the necessary supplies that are needed daily in class.
